Randolph High School Hosts 3rd Annual Rampage Cheerleading Competition

RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph High School was jam-packed with 58 cheerleading squads and over 2,000 spectators at the 3rd annual Rampage Cheerleading Competition on Sunday, Nov 17.

Throughout the day, youth and high school cheerleading squads wowed the audience and performed outstanding routines, scored by a panel of qualified judges. Cheerleaders also had the opportunity to participate in stunt, jump, and tumble-off competitions, organized by the Randolph High School competition team.

The Rampage featured something for everyone including 50/50 raffles, candy grams, cheerleader shout-outs, and food concessions generously donated by many local restaurant sponsors. The event also showcased vendors who marketed apparel, cheerleading and novelty items, as well as jewelry, kitchen products, and services.

The success of the Rampage competition was the result of several months of hard work on the part of the RHS competition team parents, athletes, coaches, and volunteers. The event was also made possible in large part due to the team’s premium sponsors including Astute Academics, Baumwoll Orthodontics who sponsored the Rampage trophies, and John Herold Jewelers who donated a beautiful necklace that was raffled off at the end of the competition.

The Randolph High School competition cheerleading team kicked off the day with an exciting exhibition performance of their cheer music routine. Head coach Nicholas Longo stated , “when each individual starts to believe and trust in herself and her teammates, a routine becomes more than a routine, it becomes a performance.”

As the season progresses, the Rams continue to grow stronger and closer to their goal of earning a bid to UCA Nationals in Orlando for the 5th year in a row. Seniors Emily Tully and Blake Sawyer describe their feelings on the team dynamic and performance.

“I think we really came together as a team today. We went out and performed for not only ourselves but for each other and our coaches. We were able to put together a routine that we can all be proud of. Our hard work is paying off, and we will only continue to succeed from here,” said Sawyer.

Tully added that “even though it’s still the start of the competition season, I feel that our team has become extremely close. The tight-knit relationships that are built through our team allow us to perform better and make our routine look effortless because we are happy to perform together. The effort put in by each person is truly amazing, and I am so excited to continue my last season as a Ram.”

The RHS competition team has high hopes for their future performances and is thrilled to have put on such a successful and rewarding competition.
